Early November 2012 Hurricane Sandy made a mess of New York. Airports closed, flights were cancelled and for several weeks it was chaos (understatement). Sadly Christine and Ruben’s destination wedding in Turks and Caicos could not go ahead as planned – but last week Christine and Ruben did finally make it down to Turks and Caicos to have a beach/island photo shoot in their wedding clothes. It would be all too easy not to make this effort, so it was lovely to be able to help the two of them capture some moments together with the beautiful Turks and Caicos backdrop.
A girls getaway to to the Gansevoort resort in Turks and Caicos is high on everyone’s “love do to that” list. Elyssa was lucky enough to have 11 wonderful friends who jumped at the chance to help her celebrate a certain “milestone” birthday. With gorgeous weather, the gansevoort’s incredible beach and the Penthouse as well. well yes it was just fabulous..Read More »A girls getaway weekend at the Gansevoort Resort.
We’ve often helped large multigenerational families – groups of 18, 20 – even +30 that travel all together especially over the key holiday weekends. It’s unusual to help with families that are just friends – all of whom have kids of the same ages and simply get along so well. It’s a lot of fun though still a challenge to shoot 4 separate families with 8 adults and 9 kids (including teenagers and a toddler) in our normal 60 minute photo shoot… things have to be more formal, more structured (less candid) so we can get all the different groups and combinations. Here we go…Read More »Friends, friends and more friends
Last week at the Gansevoort it was “girls weekend” with several groups down in Turks and Caicos enjoying the sunshine. Arden is getting married (congrats!) and 11 friends/family came down to help celebrate with an elegant “bacholorette” weekend. With 12 women and a little champagne there was never a dull moment. It was a perfect evening and a great way to capture this once in a lifetime trip to the Turks and Caicos islands with the girls. A big thanks to Arden (bride),Victoria, Sara, Jennifer, Allison, Josie, Michelle, Sara , Kirstie, Rachael and Sydney.
I wonder how many brides planning the standard 300-400 person wedding this summer in New York or Washington will cast an envious eye at the simplicity and fun of a barefoot elopement in Turks and Caicos? Everyone has a different dream and it was wonderful to help Karen and Andrew with theirs. Rather than a quick 30-40 minutes on the beach we helped them create a story around the island including some of our favourite places. A combination of simplicity – its was just them and the barefoot elegance that is Turks and Caicos.Read More »Karen and Andrew’s Elopement
It’s always nice to see your work in print! Sure seeing our pictures published on blogs and websites is the wave of the future (and marketing) but the touch and feel of your pictures in a glossy magazine is hard to beat. (Perhaps that’s also true of your own pictures?) It was lovely to hear that the British magazine Wedding Flowers & Accessories had published one of our recent Grace Bay Club weddings for their May/June 2013 issue. This is great news for all the lovely companies that helped put this together and for Turks and Caicos in general – love it!Read More »We’ve been published!
Despite the snow still falling in several parts of the North eastern USA and Canada, spring break is in full swing down in Turks and Caicos. It’s been great chatting with families over the last few months as we’ve planned family shoots around scuba diving lessons, bone fishing trips and spa appointments. Several families are also repeat visitors and repeat family shoots so its lovely to catchup. Nancy and Jordan’s family – Alex, Molly, Hunter and Lauren were actually married in 2010 so it was really nice to meet up with them again and see how much everyone had grown!! What an awesome family.Read More »Spring Break is here!
