With busy schedules and work commitments the weekends are often the only time couples can come on a site visit ahead of their destination wedding. With a recent seasonal flurry in weddings this past few weeks too, we’ve been busy too! Kristy and Anthony are a fun couple. Cool, laid back, relaxed – happy to forgo the engagement shoot we offer after a site visit, but I talked them into doing just 15 mins…literally – first image to last including driving to the first location, then the beach – all done in 15 mins !
Every year we gather a few companies that live and work in Turks and Caicos and get them to dance around in santa hats. We keep it very casual, it’s all done with a few emails and quick telephone calls. A few we just drove by and got them to dance on the spot !! It’s not about us, it’s about the great people and companies that reside in Turks and Caicos. So HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you all from everyone in TCI.
As avid photographers Michelle and Jeff wanted to have some really special pictures of their vacation to Turks and Caicos. As Jeff wrote, “We’ve only had professional photos taken of us once before, and that was at our wedding 11 years ago. The photos are all very formal and posed, nothing really fun or casual, and nothing very personal or intimate. So we’re looking for something more fun and relaxed this time around.” Well that sounds exactly like what we do !!! So with those “marching instructions” it was off to some of our favourite spots around the island for some pure island style..
During the winter season with sunset at 5pm it’s possible to catch a boat over to the lovely Parrot Cay in the early afternoon and jump on a staff boat that leaves about ten minutes after sunset ! Perfect! For smaller weddings, elopements, a family portraits it’s ideal. For Victoria and Charles’ wedding the gorgeous sunset was one of the best I have seen in years and almost made me miss the boat back ! Having suffered through the ups and downs of Sandy, both Victori and Charles were clearly just happy to be able to relax on this lovely island and enjoy the moment.
Christmas and sending holiday cards is often the inspiration for family pictures. With new baby Luca and a trip to Turks and Caicos planned it was a perfect opportunity to capture Luca on his first beach vacation. The Regent Palms was as always a great backdrop withits elegant architecture and beautiful grounds.
The fall season leading up to the thanksgiving week is a big one in Turks and Caicos for multigenerational family groups. It’s great for everyone to be able to get away from the daily chores and spend time with each other in a beautiful condo or villa. It’s not unusual to have three generations, grandparents LOVE those grandkids, but FOUR? now that is fun ! The Grace Bay Beach House was our venue on this windy afternoon.
It’s always lovely to see couples again that we have helped with photo shoot before. A few years ago I had the pleasure of shooting Kristi and Andrew’s wedding and then in 2011 it was 6 month old Sadie’s turn. Well back again earlier this month, now 2 year old Sadie was ready for some fun beach time A real “water baby” it was all we could do to keep her out of the pool and waves for a little while….that didn;t last too long though!!
