The Regent Palms is always a lovely backdrop for any wedding. It has an old historic Caribbean feel to it and a lovely beach. Michelle and Jason were relaxed and ready to enjoy their private , intimate wedding in Turks and Caicos and with Diane and her team from Island Harmony taking care of the details, they did just that. As always Environmental Arts supplied some lovely bouquets and boutonnieres and everyone partied till late listening to DJ William John (well until they jumped in the pool anyway!)
A trip to Turks and Caicos to celebrate a birthday is always a wonderful thing. Jenny had planned a surprise trip for husband Richard and he soon found himself in turks with Jenny and daughter’s Amie and Erica. With ages close to my own two, this was always going to be fun. An island escape gives more time for less formal pictures, more candid, natural moments and being able to end up swimming in the ocean at the end of the shoot is always an added bonus ! For these girls, getting them out of the water at the end was probably the hardest thing we had to do all day !! Too much fun !
Probably one of the biggest weddings of the year in Turks and Caicos this year will be Nikheel and Alison’s wedding on 12.12.12 at Grace Bay Club. As the Chief Operating officer of Grace Bay Resorts Nikheel is a popular and very well known figure on island and within the hospitality world in general. Alison is from Turks so has a lot of family here, but has also been Miss Earth TCI and hosted local TV news (she interviewed me a couple of times even!) as well as now running her own PR company. With such a big wedding it was wonderful to be able to have them all alone for a couple of hours one saturday afternoon to be just themselves. I doubt that we will have so much time on the day itself !!) Just the two of them and some of our favourite spots on Providenciales. Even with Hurricane Sandy we managed to find some sunshine . Fun afternoon with fun people…
We’ve all been affected by Hurricane Sandy over the last few weeks. luckily in TCI all we had to contend with is some rain and disappointing cloudy days mostly. With Hurricane Sandy passing near New York, the tail-end of the storm lashed the TCI, but despite the waves reaching to the steps of their rental villa on Sapodilla bay we managed to meet up with the lovey Lehman family and capture some moments all together.
Another magical elopement. Truly lovely people. Just the two of them, the Pastor, the beach, what more is there to say? Well Hurricane Sandy was passing by and not co-operating! Turks and Caicos was lucky to escape its main wrath, but the fleeting wind and rain showers (some heavy at times) did play havoc with our ceremonies. We rescheduled, waited the storm to pass and the real story was Jessica and Anthony on the beach getting married. Love it.
Many couple’s dream of eloping. Just running away together to some far distant island where it can be just the two of them; simple, romantic, elegant. Many couples do this, but more often than not, everyone back home knows they are “eloping’. Not so with Alison and Julian. They plan to surprise everyone once they get back home. In fact I am waiting to hear from them before I post this blog. Don’t want to have a ” google search” spoil the fun ! With Teresa from Tropical DMC helping with the arch, The Gansevoort as a beautiful backdrop and a lovely sunset, it was a perfect “elopement”.
