The great thing about Turks and Caicos is that once people hear about it, they want to come visit! It’s on many people’s “bucket lists” and so it should be ! What you see here are the results of just me,one photographer, 100+ guests and 2 hours start to finish. Often on photography blogs you will shoots that have models wafting through cornfields or designer outfits all photographed, styled, tweaked and “produced” over days and days, but this is a real wedding -live and direct ! A HUGE thank you to Michael and Ashley as they made it work – this was a real collaboration…big time…lovely people.
Marisol reached out to us to help her plan a lovely romantic shoot whilst they were visiting Grand Turk on their Carnival cruise through the Turks and Caicos Islands.Little did she know that a few weeks later Alonso would actually propose and that the shoot would quickly turn into a wonderful opportunity for an engagement shoot. We exchanged a few emails, discussed clothing options and set up timings. I then had to jump on an aeroplane to fly over to Grand turks just for the shoot and just for the day !
Amy and Lee love the Turks and Caicos, Lee actually proposed in Turks! A wedding on the beach in front of the lovely Seven Stars was always the plan with their little girl Ella as a flower girl. With moms, dads, brothers and sisters all making the trip, it was a very special afternoon. With the wedding being coordinated by Luise from NILA and the team from Seven Stars on hand it was always going to be a great day. Amy and Lee were also the very first couple to use the wonderful new deck that the Seven Stars has installed as a perfect wedding venue and event location. We have the first pictures! An exclusive first look!
A question we often get asked is what is the best time of day for a photo shoot. Whilst most photographers will immediately go for that beautiful soft light around sunset (and it’s less hot!), with such gorgeous colors and vibrant blue water it’s hard not to want to shoot earlier in the day. We did just that with Emily and Philip. After a couple of rainy days, we aimed for 10am so we could capture some great Turks and Caios color.
Despite some delays due to a little rain and some cloudy days we managed to capture a few moments with Sabrina and Kyle as they celebrated their honeymoon at the always lovely Gansevoort Resort. Having just got married the pervious weekend they were still in the “picture taking zone” and it was just fun to play with the in the grounds of the resort and of course on that gorgeous Grace Bay Beach.
We’ve been emailing back and forth with Angela helping with the details for upcoming wedding in 2013. As Angela and fiance Hesam had planned a trip down to Turks and Caicos to look over various resorts and options it was a perfect opportunity to spend 20-25 minutes on the beach having a little fun. These free engagement shoots are lovely way for us to get to know our future couples a little better and for them to feel confident in how we shoot. Often it’s the first time they’ve had to “perform” in front of a camera so our little tips and “bedside manner” quickly put them at ease and get’s them excited for the big day!Read More »Angela & Hesam’s Engagement Shoot, Grave Bay Beach, Turks and Caicos Islands
With 45 people and 8 kids, a junkanoo band to serenade them to the reception, kissing fish providing the catering, NILA Destinations coordinating every moment and everyone from Grandma to flower girls hitting the dance floor, Keisha and Sam’s wedding was simply a fun time for all concerned.
