Working on a project and shot these over the weekend – still not even finished editing, but having some fun with it…
With spring break we’ve had several families with young kids for family shoots. We love their energy and fun, but it’s also nice to take a step back and help a family with grown up “kids”. No need for my bad jokes or “kid wrangling techniques”. No need to put sand in my hair. We just hang out, chat about the island, what they’ve liked so far, places to eat, trips to do and during the course of the 60 minutes we take a few pictures, set up a few situations and laugh a lot. Simple.
There are so many stories in this post. Is it meeting up with Sue and Peter DeJonge again and helping with their lovely vows renewal? Is it the fact that the beach we used is home to a new development that is selling units that start at $1.7million each or was it the gorgeous set up on the beach by Teresa from Tropical Destination management that could be for any family that wants a cool picnic lunch and afternoon at the beach in style?
How do you want to celebrate your vows renewal?A quick 5×7 picture on the beach at sunset? Beth and Dave took this opportunity to celebrate not only their renewal of vows, but also their family and the perfect moment of a great vacation in Turks and Caicos. WOW – what a great backdrop the island makes!! We helped coordinate the afternoon with them and the justice of the peace Sandra Garland so we could get some pictures of everyone , have the ceremony and then spend a relaxed afternoon sightseeing around the island, tasting some local food and rum punch before a wonderful sunset on Sapodilla Bay…
A last minute call from the concierge’s desk. A few frantic moments rearranging our schedules and we found ourselves on the beach with Tracie and Justin a few hours before their flight back to Texas. What a way to celebrate the last few hours of a wonderful honeymoon !! A picture perfect day started at the lovely Somerset resort, before we jumped into our van and headed off to a more secluded and private beach. A few pictures to help them remember this tropical paradise was what they wanted and exactly what they got !!
Susan is a photographer, but faces the problem that she wants to be in the pictures as well as take them. Sadly the laws of physics prevent this 😉 The family had a vacation coming up to Turks and Caicos, so who to call to help? “Ghostbusters”…errr no brilliant !! Its tough to let go and let other do what you do, but we were able to help Susan and make her feel comfortable with letting us take pictures of her and her family! With grown kids it was all about keeping things casual and fun.
A couple of years have passed since we last helped Heidi and Gary with some pictures on the beach. The kids are now a little older (4 and 6) so a quick morning shoot at their lovely Tuscany Resort and the grace bay beach in front was simple, easy and fun. Really great kids – they even laughed at my jokes !! What’s big and red and eats rocks?
