Turks and Caicos Islands, Somerset Resort, The Rudolph Family

The Rudolph Family  are one of our families that have had several photo shoots with us over the years. Lynn and Marty have been coming to Turks and Caicos for 15 years and we’ve had photo shoots with Lisa, Ryan, Simon and Sidney since they were babies!

It was a real pleasure to help them last week at the Somerset resort. We soon got into a fun, ‘flow” as we made our way down the beach for sunset. Great family, lots of fun and Simon and Sidney were a blast.

Turks and Caicos, Veranda Resort, the Kaskel Family

It is the season for large family gatherings and it doesn’t come much larger than 32 people in one family ! We’ve helped with many weddings smaller than that! Capturing a group of 32 in an hour shoot takes special skills and we decided that both David and myself would help. Given the nature of the requests for specific formal groups, ie the big group shot, grandparents with the grand kids,  the grown up kids, sub families, kids only, couples it does leave less time for more candid moments, however we still need to make every shot look relaxed and get those great expressions.

Its a rare moment in time when everyone is together and the pictures will only get more valuable as time goes on.

Turks and Caicos, West Bay Club, Michael and Bambi’s beach escape

When was the last time you drank from a real coconut?  (more on that later…)  Bambi and Michael were married in Turks and Caicos 8 years ago and wanted to have some relaxed photos of the two of them together during a quick trip to Turks and Caicos last week.

From the start it was simply just fun, chatting about the island, eco stuff, air conditioners (Michael’s in the business), the UK. After a few pictures at the resort we moved to Villa Renaissance where we found some coconuts and the  finally to the beach for sunset. As it turned out I had picked the very same beach that Michal and Bambi first came to on that fist visit 8 years ago…we had come full circle.

Turks and Caicos, Jennifer and Dustin’s trash the dress shoot

A couple of days after the wedding at Alexandra we did a “trash the dress” shoot for Jennifer and Dustin. We started off at their honeymoon hotel – the Gansevoort and then jumped into our own van to move around the island. The conch shack is always a great location for shooting and to grab a beer. A very different look and feel to the ultra upscale resort on Grace Bay beach. After a quick change we hung out with some local kids and then popped down to Sapodilla Bay…awesome.

A few more black and white images than i normally do, plus a little infrared feel too – what do you think?

Turks and Caicos Islands Villas at Blue Mountain, Stephanie and Erik

Villa weddings are always fun. Often smaller more intimate destination weddings, they lend themselves to a slower pace, more personal and always unique.

The villas at Blue Mountain are breath taking with panoramic views, a private beach, hammock amongst the palms…perfect.

Combine this with a quick trip to Sapodilla for the  sunset setting over the water and we had the perfect combination.

The office party pictures…do we dare post them?

We had a small and fairly impromptu gathering at the office last week. We just told people to swing by if they had time on Friday afternoon. There are so many different events going on right now on the island…dance recitals, fund raisers, Christmas plays, we didn’t want to conflict with anything that had been already planned. So a grill, some sausages, awesome homemade cookies, fabulous pastries from Caicos bakery, a little champagne, some wine…Read More »The office party pictures…do we dare post them?
