Windvibes 2013

Kitesurfers skimmed the shallow waters of Long Bay on their boards, kites soaring high above them – as it should be for any WindVibes event. This year’s WindVibes, in its seventh year, was welcomed with just enough wind as hundreds of people took to the beach and ocean. Kayakers, stand-up paddle boarders and swimmers dotted the bay as the familiar smells of chicken, conch fritters and mac-and-cheese wafted along the beach. A few rainsqualls didn’t deter the crowds, either. They simply took cover under tents or waited it out in the water, laughing. If nothing else, WindVibes served as a reminder as to why we live in the Turks and Caicos.
