Simple, elegant, relaxed, fun – these were all the words that Tonya and Craig used to describe how they wanted their wedding at the Gansevoort, Turks and Caicos to be. A destination wedding in Turks seemed to fit the bill and the elegance of the Gansevoort resort was a perfect backdrop with some added help from Teresa at Tropical Destination Management.
Craig was ready and waiting when I arrived at the resort – eager to get married!
The lobby has some wonderful dark wood and the natural, openness of the design makes for a great “studio”.
Down to the beach bar to check on the gazebo/beach setup and time for Craig to have a quick one before the wedding. I left him to “relax” and headed off to find Tonya.
After having Shenique help with her hair and makeup all that was needed was to hop into the dress..
Tonya wanted to “skype” with her mum just before the ceremony, but was having connection problems…
Craig’s mum did manage to get through which was great!! Fun to be on video with Florida!!
Then a few minutes with just Tonya, around the resort as we waited on the Pastor and made our way slowly down to the beach.
It was VERY wind on the beach – really blowing – which kept things cool, but also made keeping the petals on the beach a challenge. Managed to catch the petals dropping onto the sand – little different.
Happy !
Only 90 minutes from Miami and it’s just the two of them on a golden sandy beach with no one else in sight!!
And of course – on cue – the sun came out from behind the clouds..
Tonya had a great train to her dress and with the wind blowing, we had to try out a few fun shots..
Whilst the veil didn’t stay attached for long, we brought it along and used it for a picture..

My favorite shot from a day where images were popping up all over the place….we took Tonya’s train, added a flash behind the couple and with some help from Teresa we had the train in the air too!
What a wonderful evening wedding with just the two of them , the Gansevoort resort and another beautiful sunset in Turks and Caicos!
