First wedding of the year in the Turks & Caicos

A year after Nicole and Erik got engaged here on Grace Bay Beach, they became husband and wife on the perfect day for new beginnings: New Year’s Day, marking the first wedding of the year in the Turks and Caicos.

In 2013, the week before New Year’s, Nicole and Erik were on holiday from Boston when he decided to pop the question with a little help from a conch shell, a national symbol for the Turks and Caicos. Erik placed the ring inside a shell on the beach when Nicole wasn’t looking, then casually picked it up as they walked along the shore. Nicole saw the ring and assumed it had been left for someone else, so she urged Erik to put it back. Little did she know the ring belonged to her, if she said yes. And she did.

And so Providenciales became an important part of their love story. Nicole and Erik decided to tie the knot on the tiny island where they decided to make the ultimate commitment to each other.

The couple originally planned to have their ceremony at a villa, but plans fell through and they thought they’d have to postpone the wedding. But it was a blessing in disguise, as Sibonne came through after a last-minute cancellation. And it couldn’t have been a more perfect place for Nicole and Erik to say “I do” in front of their friends and family.

The wedding was organized by Island Harmony and catered by Bay Bistro. After a small ceremony on the beach, the newlyweds and their guests lit paper wish lanterns to send off into the sky. And an occasion as special and joyous as Nicole and Erik’s wedding could only end one way: dancing on the beach.

The wedding of Anne & Jeff

The one thing that all couples hope is guaranteed when booking their wedding here in the Turks and Caicos is a perfect weather day. However, in one of our recent weddings, the weather didn’t want to cooperate but fortunately Anne and Jeff  didn’t let it spoil their special day. In fact, they embraced it and their wedding ceremony and celebrations went ahead as planned. Both Bride and Groom and their wedding guests were full of smiles throughout!

As ever, Diane and her team from Island Harmony did a great job planning and organizing the wedding, even if a little tested by the inclement weather on the day.

We managed to get some photos of Anne and Jeff and their family in the gardens of The Sands resort before the rain came fast towards us but I couldn’t let the couple leave without taking some photos of them a couple of days later in the sunshine on Grace Bay!

We’ve been published!

It’s always nice to see your work in print! Sure seeing our pictures published on blogs and websites is the wave of the future (and marketing) but the touch and feel of your pictures in a glossy magazine is hard to beat. (Perhaps that’s also true of your own pictures?) It was lovely to hear that the British magazine Wedding Flowers & Accessories had published one of our  recent Grace Bay Club weddings for their May/June 2013 issue. This is great news for all the lovely companies that helped put this together and for Turks and Caicos in general – love it!Read More »We’ve been published!

Turks and Caicos, The Regent Palms, Carrie and Matt’s Wedding day

After a lovely site visit in April this year we were very excited to help Carrie and Matt with their elegant wedding at the always lovely Regent Palms. December weddings are always fun and with all the planning and details that Carrie had clearly put into her wedding, this was going to be a very “photogenic wedding”. With six bridesmaids plus flower girl, parasols for the beach, Diane from Island Harmony coordinating the day, Geraldine and Ann helping with hair and makeup, Kelci on the steel pans during the ceremony and then an awesome party in the P23 restaurant with DJ William John…well WOW !!

Turks and Caicos Islands,Regent Palms Resort & Spa, Michelle and Jason’s Wedding

The Regent Palms is always a lovely backdrop for any wedding. It has an old historic Caribbean feel to it and a lovely beach. Michelle and Jason were relaxed and ready to enjoy their private , intimate wedding in Turks and Caicos and with Diane and her team from Island Harmony taking care of the details, they did just that. As always Environmental Arts supplied some lovely bouquets and boutonnieres and everyone partied till late listening to DJ William John (well until they jumped in the pool anyway!)
