Turks and Caicos beach wedding

Lia and I used to work together and one thing I remember her saying was that if she ever were to have a Turks and Caicos beach wedding, she would want me to be her photographer!

Three weeks ago, Lia and Joe had their wedding and sure enough, I took great pride in being their photographer. After looking at a few different locations for their wedding ceremony, they decided on it being on Little Water Cay.

Lia got ready at a rented private villa in Long Bay whilst Joe got ready at the home of his parents, also in Long Bay. Unbeknown to most of their guests, Lia and Joe had their ‘first look’ at The Palms Resort and Spa before heading to Blue Haven Marina to catch their respective boats to the small island.

Joe and his family and the rest of the wedding guests boarded the beautiful sail boat, The Atabeyra, whilst Lia, her mother and sisters and some of her girlfriends were taken over to the island on Caicos Catalyst.

Around an hour before sunset, Lia arrived to the Island where the ceremony was going to take place. Joe and the Atabeyra guests were waiting in anticipation for the beautiful bride. And boy was she a beautiful bride! The ceremony took place under a stunning driftwood arch, put together by some of their friends.

Following the ceremony, we had some time to spend taking photographs of friends and family on this beautiful deserted island, as well as pictures of the happy couple. Before heading back to Providenciales on the Atabeyra, everybody enjoyed a few cocktails while watching the sunset.

The wedding reception took place at Opus restaurant and was the start of an evening of celebration that went on into the early hours! Congratulations to Lia and Joe on their beautiful wedding and thank you for letting me be the one to capture it.

Grace Bay beach destination wedding

The first time I met with Andrea and Daniel was at their beautiful private villa to talk about their upcoming small Grace Bay beach destination wedding.
After chatting for a few minutes with bride and groom and some of their family members, I knew this was going to be a beautiful beach destination wedding to capture.
Andrea and Daniel wanted a very intimate wedding with just very close friends and family members and the Turks & Caicos Islands was the ideal place to do their destination wedding. Keisha Delancy from Destination TCI helped the bride and groom with all the planning for their wedding day.
After looking for different beach location for their wedding ceremony, the bride and groom finally found the perfect location and that was Grace Bay beach next to the beautiful Point Grace boutique resort . This stunning yet small resort has some gorgeous  gardens for photography and the beach is always very quiet, making it the perfect location to celebrate small wedding ceremonies.
Andrea and Daniel got married on March 31st, an hour before sunset on the most beautiful beaches in the world, Grace Bay beach. After their wedding ceremony and toasts to the happy couple, it was time to do a few photos with Andrea and Daniel on the beach just as the sun was beginning to set. This is the perfect time of the day for the best soft light for photography.
Andrea and Daniel and all their wedding guests moved on to celebrate their wedding reception at Hemingways Restaurant located on the hart of Grace Bay beach, just a few minutes along from where their wedding ceremony took place.
Here are a few images from their wedding day…

Beach House Resort family portrait

The past couple of weeks have been very busy for the Brilliant Studios team with lots of great family photo shoots but there was one that we really enjoyed – a Beach House Resort family portrait.
I first met the beautiful D’ausilio family next to swimming pool of the Beach House Resort.
For this shoot we had mum, dad and their two year old son Max. Mum is actually a professional photographer and  was very happy and excited to get a great family portrait done here in the Turks & Caicos as she is normally the one behind the camera!
This was a one hour photo shoot. We started taking some photos around the beautiful gardens of the Beach House resort. As soon the the sun was a little less bright we decided to move to the award winning Grace Bay beach.
Their son Max had a blast running around the beach and playing with his parents. He was smiling and laughing during the entire photo shoot, he was such a happy boy!

For the perfect ending we had a stunning sunset over the clear and calm waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Here are a few of the highlights from their Beach House Resort family portrait.

elopement in Parrot Cay

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a secluded elopement in Parrot Cay, one of the finest islands of the Turks and Caicos. Anett and Miklos are a couple who spend half of each year living in New York for work and the other half in their home country of Hungary. With the intention of doing a larger wedding in Hungary later with family and friends, they first chose to get away together for a more secretive and intimate beach wedding at a beautiful private villa in Parrot Cay.

On March 15th, I took a twenty-five minute private resort ferry to the island where I met Nadia, the lovely wedding planner, who was waiting for me at the dock. After a short drive to their private and very beautiful villa, I met Anett and Miklos and knew straight away that not only was this going to be a special day, it was going to be a fun day!

The wedding ceremony took place on the beach in front of their private villa. Seeing as it was just the two of them, we could afford to start the ceremony a bit later. After the ceremony, we had plenty of time to take photos along the beach and as the weather was faultless, we even had the chance to fly our drone for some extra special aerial pictures.

Following a beautiful sunset and a fun wedding shoot, it was time for me to make my way back to the marina to catch the private resort ferry back to the island of Providenciales.

Turks and Caicos most exclusive wedding

Brilliant Studios has been photographing weddings here for the last twenty years and we are proud to have now photographed Turks and Caicos most exclusive wedding yet. Anita and I first met with Robin Lathrop the owner of ByRobin, Inc an Event Management Company who specializes in logistically challenging events all over the world, Lindsey and Cody and Lindsey’s mother a couple of months prior to discuss the plans for their big day. It didn’t take long for us to realize that this was going to be a spectacular wedding. With over two hundred guests and activities that were planned to take place over three days, it was going to take three photographers and a team of videographers to capture this wedding extravaganza of the year! And where would be the perfect venue to hold such an exclusive wedding event? The Gansevoort, Turks and Caicos. To achieve Robin Lathrop’s vision her team needed to bring in containers including such things as lighting, sound, video and specialty decor that could not be sourced here on the island. Over fifty work permits were arranged for her team of specialist brought in to set up and execute the events.  In addition, she brought two bands to perform at the wedding and the beach party. Extra catering staff on island were employed by the Gansevoort to ensure that Lindsey and Cody and their wedding guests had every need attended to. One of the most incredible things about this whole wedding, for me, was where the ceremony and wedding reception took place… The ByRobin team custom built a platform over the resort swimming pool. The flowers, the decorations, the music, the lighting, the food and, of course, the bride and groom and their families made this a beautiful and impressive event. An event that we, here at Brilliant Studios, were extremely proud to have been chosen to capture. Location Wedding: Gansevoort Resort Turks and Caicos. Event Management Company ByRobin, Inc.  A big Thanks to Chrystel  Loyer from Chrystallize photography for all her assistance. secret proposals on Grace Bay

It is becoming more popular for guys to contact us, enquiring about secret proposals on Grace Bay beach while they are on vacation with their girlfriend. The first time we heard from Vitaly was a few weeks before coming down to the islands with his girlfriend, Lindsey, to stay at the Gansevvort, Turks and Caicos. The plan for the actual day was that Vitaly was going to take Lindsey for a walk and take photos on the beach about an hour before sunset. Little did Lindsay know that I was already there, waiting for them to walk by to capture the moment where he he got down on one knee and proposed. During the exact moment that Vitaly popped the question and got a resounding ‘yes’, a beautiful double rainbow appeared in the distance. In all the shoots  that we have done like this, I have never had a double rainbow in the backdrop before! And on top of that spectacular moment, they also had a pretty stunning sunset before sitting down to eat at a private beach dinner in front of the Gansevvort.  Here are a few highlights from their shoot.

Honeymoon photo shoot in Grand Turk

A few weeks ago, Kim and Kevin contacted us about doing a honeymoon photo shoot in Grand Turk. They had already had their wedding day in Canada but wanted to have photos taken in their wedding attire whilst on their cruise ship honeymoon and stopping in Grand Turk for a few hours.

When the ship docked in Grand Turk we picked them up at the terminal and took them to a few different locations around the island for a variety of photographs.

A highlight of the shoot for us was chartering a boat to take Kim and Kevin to Gibbs Cay for a ‘trash the dress’ shoot. Gibbs Cay is well known for it’s sting rays that come to be fed by tourists in the shallow water. We have done many of this type of shoot before but never with sting rays!

After just a few minutes in the water, Kim and Kevin were surrounded by sting rays and one even photobombed a picture with what can only be described as a cheeky smile on it’s face 😉

At the end of the shoot, we took the short ride back to the cruise ship terminal and said goodbye to Kim and Kevin before making our own journey back to Providenciales. It was an awesome day.  A big thanks to Grand Turks divers for helping us to get to Gibbs Cay and back to Grand Turk.
