Honeymoon photo shoot

Honeymoon photo shoot in Grand Turk

A few weeks ago, Kim and Kevin contacted us about doing a honeymoon photo shoot in Grand Turk. They had already had their wedding day in Canada but wanted to have photos taken in their wedding attire whilst on their cruise ship honeymoon and stopping in Grand Turk for a few hours.

When the ship docked in Grand Turk we picked them up at the terminal and took them to a few different locations around the island for a variety of photographs.

A highlight of the shoot for us was chartering a boat to take Kim and Kevin to Gibbs Cay for a ‘trash the dress’ shoot. Gibbs Cay is well known for it’s sting rays that come to be fed by tourists in the shallow water. We have done many of this type of shoot before but never with sting rays!

After just a few minutes in the water, Kim and Kevin were surrounded by sting rays and one even photobombed a picture with what can only be described as a cheeky smile on it’s face 😉

At the end of the shoot, we took the short ride back to the cruise ship terminal and said goodbye to Kim and Kevin before making our own journey back to Providenciales. It was an awesome day.  A big thanks to Grand Turks divers for helping us to get to Gibbs Cay and back to Grand Turk.

Honeymoon on the beach

After searching all over the Caribbean for the “perfect” spot for a delayed Honeymoon on the beach, Michael and Shruti picked Turks and Caicos. Wanting to avoid the all inclusive crush and busyness they searched for an intimate villa near the beach. Well they could not have done any better than Villa Capri on Sapodilla Bay. This newly built villa (I saw them go up over the last 18 months or so) is a few foot steps from Sapodilla Bay which is one of our fav spots for photo shoots and offers amazingly calm water and picture perfect sunsets over the water.  It was lovely to hang out with the two of them. The shoot was a surprise for Shruti. Great job Michael ! What a lovely evening.Read More »Honeymoon on the beach

Underwater ‘trash’ the wedding dress

After twelve years of taking photos in the Turks and Caicos Islands, I still enjoy photographing couples and families around our beautiful islands – but one of the things I love most is when I get the chance to do an underwater ‘trash’ the wedding dress.

We don’t do this type of photo shoot very often, but when we do, we get very excited about it. We did our first trash the dress shoot in 2011, and we have done quite a few more since then.

Ashley and Kyle got married last year in their home state of Illinois. While planing their honeymoon to the Turks and Caicos, Ashley contacted us because she wanted to do a shoot around the islands – specifically an underwater shoot with her wedding dress.

On January 21st, I picked up Ashley and Kyle at the Alexandra Resort where they were staying. For the first part of the shoot, we went to Leeward Beach, and then to Bugaloo’s beach bar.

For the ‘trash’ the wedding dress part, we went to Malcolm’s Beach. This part of the island is well known for being a peaceful place with a rocky shore and vibrant blue seascape. The sea was a bit rough that day, but I was quite happy as the water was still very clear and it was the first time I had photographed a bride under the waves.

Here are a few images from the Malcom’s Beach ‘trash the wedding dress…..
