With summer holidays now in full swing and “kids out for the summer”, it’s wonderful to meet and capture some great family time in turks and caicos for so many families. We met up with David and Kimmy at the Beaches Resort and took them on our classic Island Escape photo shoot. This shoot is one of our favourites and one of our most popular.  With this shoot we have more time for candid, natural moments rather than everything being compressed into an hour before sunset. We have more locations and more opportunities to mix things up and create different pictures. By moving around the island, even taking time for some conch and a rum punch drink everyone relaxes into an “island pace” and those natural smiles are everywhere.  Nolan, Kiana and little Madison were awesome and it was fabulous to be able to create some special pictures of the whole family together in our paradise, Turks and Caicos.

First beach steps at Villa Renaissance, Turks and Caicos

Villa Renaissance  is a resort we use for photo shoots even when guests are not staying there. Its beautiful gardens and quiet location make it a perfect spot to start off any photo shoot. This was a fun shoot. Lots of great colours, parents who didn’t mind getting in the sand and best of all watching their son XXX really take his first steps on the beach. Until the shoot he hadn’t taken to the sand and the waves (quite common). He was great around the resort, but that sandy stuff..not so sure. But during the shoot, we sat him in the sand, played around, did some swinging, jumping and general fun. Beach pictures with three “five and under”.

A family with three “five and under” is never a dull place or quiet. But it’s also fun, vibrant, exciting, joyful and happy. Put everyone on a beach and let them play a little, run a little, jump a little and make noises – YES! We caught up with Maria and Brian at the Villa del Mar and hopped across the short beach access pausing along the way for the sun to dip down and the kids to get into the groove. It was great to see them just play and explore. Beach pictures made easy ! We even had dragon noises 😉

Fabulous family boat trip in turks and caicos

I had a great weekend helping Suzanne and Paul with our signature Castaway Boat shoot. This is a fabulous family boat trip in turks and caicos where you have your very own private boat to go wherever you want.  What a great way to spend the afternoon !! Plus it was also another “repeat” shoot with this lovely family which just makes everything that much easier and fun. We cruised along the islands, found a great beach spot, hung out with some local rock iguanas before then heading out to a cool reef spot for some underwater pictures and snorkelling. Spring Break at Amanyara

Spring break is in full swing in Turks and Caicos and we’ve had several returning families back to visit us. Jill and Kirk and their two boys Hunter and Jackson had a few days at one of the resorts on Grace bay before moving to Amanyara. It’s certainly one of our favourite resorts with its Asian inspired architecture and amazing beach. It was back in 2012 that we first did a family photo shoot with them and it was great to see the boys again  -a little older, but just as fun. As a dad myself it’s always special to see families together having pictures, just hanging out and taking a few moments to be together.  Great family in a wonderful location…perfect.

Three photos shoots- one family – part two.

So following on from the last blog post – with the super fun boat trip, snorkelling for conch, shipwrecks and underwater pictures – later that day its was “part two and three” of our extended family photo shoot. With some family members not on the boat trip, I did a lovely sunset photo shoot with Grace and Mark and their kids and then a “babymoon” shoot to celebrate a new baby on the way for  Cormac & Stephanie Grace’s brother and sister-in-law.

Three photos shoots- one family – part one.

Family photo shoots are a big part of what we do. The relaxed vibe of Turks and Caicos and of course its gorgeous beach and water are the perfect backdrop for “family downtime” and reconnecting. We often get asked to help with “multigenerational families” – two and three generations all together. When we get bigger groups of 20+ it’s often a challenge to capture all the fun in one go – so with Bethany and her extended family rather than forcing everyone to dress up in “white and khaki” we did three shoots at various times during their stay in Turks and Caicos.Read More »Three photos shoots- one family – part one.
