Mia has helped us before with photo shoots and also lived in Turks and Caicos until recently. It was lovely to catch up with her and help her celebrate her second new addition on the way! With busy schedules it took a little while to set up a day and time, but it was well worth it. Love the color and vibrancy of shooting at this time of day. Turks and Caicos is such a great place for a maternity shoot with it’s relaxed vibe.
A family with three “five and under” is never a dull place or quiet. But it’s also fun, vibrant, exciting, joyful and happy. Put everyone on a beach and let them play a little, run a little, jump a little and make noises – YES! We caught up with Maria and Brian at the Villa del Mar and hopped across the short beach access pausing along the way for the sun to dip down and the kids to get into the groove. It was great to see them just play and explore. Beach pictures made easy ! We even had dragon noises 😉
What an amazing week we are having. Yet another “returning family” again a few days ago with Tina and Vance and their two awesome daughters at Point Grace Resort & Spa. Again I did a family photo shoot for them a couple of years ago and it was fabulous to see everyone again. With two daughters of my own just a few years older it was easy to connect, have some fun and let everyone just be themselves. The time just flew by. Point Grace is also such a special resort with just 20 or so rooms it really keeps true to it’s boutique nature. Such amazing traditional Caribbean architecture and probably the best (widest) stretch of Grace Bay Beach out of the whole 12 miles. Spring break is in full swing in Turks and Caicos and we’ve had several returning families back to visit us. Jill and Kirk and their two boys Hunter and Jackson had a few days at one of the resorts on Grace bay before moving to Amanyara. It’s certainly one of our favourite resorts with its Asian inspired architecture and amazing beach. It was back in 2012 that we first did a family photo shoot with them and it was great to see the boys again -a little older, but just as fun. As a dad myself it’s always special to see families together having pictures, just hanging out and taking a few moments to be together. Great family in a wonderful location…perfect.
So following on from the last blog post – with the super fun boat trip, snorkelling for conch, shipwrecks and underwater pictures – later that day its was “part two and three” of our extended family photo shoot. With some family members not on the boat trip, I did a lovely sunset photo shoot with Grace and Mark and their kids and then a “babymoon” shoot to celebrate a new baby on the way for Cormac & Stephanie Grace’s brother and sister-in-law.
Family photo shoots are a big part of what we do. The relaxed vibe of Turks and Caicos and of course its gorgeous beach and water are the perfect backdrop for “family downtime” and reconnecting. We often get asked to help with “multigenerational families” – two and three generations all together. Helping with family photography at Grace Bay Club is something we do a lot and love. It’s such a beautiful resort and its located on one of the best parts of the world famous Grace Bay beach.
