Kit & Tony’s wedding at the Gansevoort Resort

A few weeks back I had the great pleasure to photograph one of my favorite weddings of the year with a great fun couple at the Gansevoort Resort.

After my first meeting with Kit and Tony a few days before their wedding day I knew that it was going to blast of a destination wedding to capture. Bride and groom had planned lots of fun things to do during their special day.

Kit and Tony chose the beautiful Resort of the Gansevoort Turks & Caicos for their wedding and their ceremony took place at Grace Bay beach. Cocktail party and reception took place at the resort beach deck.

Once it got dark we did some awesome night photos with sparklers and because it was almost a full moon, we were able to capture some beautiful images with Kit and Tony and their wedding arch.

Here are a few images from their wedding day…..

An awesome wedding at the Beach House

A few weeks back I had the opportunity to photograph an awesome wedding at the Beach House Resort.

Andrea and Peter had planned a few activities with their family and friends before and during the wedding.  The first day we met was at the Conch Shack where bride and groom and all their wedding guest enjoyed of a beach dinner and some of the best rum punch on the island.

On their wedding day Peter got ready at Villa del Mar, and Andra at the Beach House Resort where their wedding ceremony was taking place. Their ceremony was at Grace Bay beach just a few feet away from our beautiful turquoise waters.

Their Cocktail party and reception took place at the hotel beach deck where everyone enjoyed some great food, lots of dancing under the stars together with some traditional Greek music.

Here are some highlights from their wedding day….

Kristin and Emmanuel’s wedding at the Somerset

Kristin and Emmanuel were married in May at one of the most photogenic hotels in the Turks and Caicos — the Somerset.

The exquisite architecture and lush gardens make the Somerset one of our favorite places to shoot weddings. And Kristin and Emmanuel clearly agreed.

The bride and groom both work in the medical industry in New Jersey. Kristin is a nurse, and Emmanuel is an anesthesiologist, but for them it’s more than work — it’s what brought them together. Once coworkers, they’re now husband and wife.

Kristin and Emmanuel wanted to share their big day with their family and close friends, and they have plenty of them, with a wedding party of 14 (seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen). And they attracted another friend as we took photos on the beach. A potcake (the mixed-breed dogs that live here in the Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas) decided to join the photoshoot, making sure to get in as many photos as possible. Photobombed by a potcake!

Many congratulations to Kristin and Emmanuel. We hope to see you both here in Turks and Caicos again soon.

Megan and Sergio’s wedding at Ocean Club

When we met with Megan and Sergio before their wedding day in April at Ocean Club, we knew they were just as passionate as we were about their Turks and Caicos wedding photos.

Megan told us she wanted to do a “first look” before the ceremony – a chance for the bride and groom to see each other privately before their nuptials. And Megan got teary-eyed just talking about the idea. It’s that kind of passion that makes our jobs easy.

Megan and Sergio came from Rhode Island to say their wedding vows here in the Turks and Caicos. They had their ceremony at Ocean Club West with 75 guests, with the wedding organized by Tropical Destination Management.

Not only was this couple passionate, but they were fun too. Case in point: Megan ditched the traditional white wedding gown for a light pink one instead.

Your wedding day is what you make it, and Megan and Sergio made it a festive occasion, including everyone in the fun and taking time to enjoy each other in the process. We think the photos speak for themselves.

Wedding at the Sands Resort

After my first meeting with Lanie and Steve at the Sands Resort I knew right away this was going to be a great beach wedding to capture. Lanie and  Steve came all the way from Louisiana to the Turks & Caicos Islands wanting to have a destination wedding on the beautiful Grace Bay beach.

Family and friends had a blast celebrating this very especial day with bride and groom plus having a nice holiday at the same time.

Their wedding ceremony took place on April 10th just a few feet away from the turquoise waters of Grace bay. Cocktail Party and reception were on the upper deck of Hemingway’s Restaurant. A big thanks to Keisha Delancey from Destination TCI for all the wedding  planning and decorations.

Kyle and Seana’s Turks & Caicos wedding

Some of our favorite shoots are with clients who love to smile and laugh — so that puts Kyle and Seana’s wedding at the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos pretty high on our list. Like a lot of our wedding clients do before tying the knot, Kyle and Seana had done an engagement session with us back in October. Right off the bat, Seana told me she prefers having photographs that show her laughing and smiling. Nothing too serious. That’s how I knew she and Kyle would be a fun and easygoing couple to work with. Kyle and Seana opted to have a “first look” before the ceremony, which is a chance for the bride and groom to see each other privately before the wedding. It goes against wedding traditions, but we’re not talking about a traditional couple. After their first peek, Kyle and Seana had a small ceremony with 21 guests on the beach in front of the Gansevoort, with everything organized by Mary from NILA Destinations wedding planners. Their family and friends sat in a semicircle around them as they said their vows, giving the ceremony an intimate feeling. And instead of an arch, they opted for two palm trees. Perfect for an island wedding. Kyle and Seana, thanks for always smiling. We wish you many more years of laughter and hope you return to the Turks and Caicos soon!

Turks and Caicos elopement ceremony

Sometimes simplicity works best. Zahiah and Alladdine, a laid-back and adventurous couple from California, had two goals in January: get certified to scuba dive, and get married in a Turks and Caicos elopement ceremony.

After spending a couple of days getting certified with Dive Provo in Providenciales, Zahiah and Alladdine got married at the Royal West Indies. The couple knew one thing for sure: they wanted underwater photos, so they planned their wedding early so they could get underwater photos after. Teresa Brunner from Tropical Destination Management made sure their ceremony was exactly what they envisioned: a quiet, private ceremony for just the two of them.

After their ceremony, we went straight to da Conch Shack in Blue Hills for photos with the rustic, pastel buildings. We then headed down to Malcolm Beach to take some underwater photos, but the water was too rough to get in. Zahiah and Alladdine went with the flow, and it all worked out anyway — the waves breaking over the iron shore proved to be just as stunning as any underwater photos.

Zahiah and Alladdine were one of the most relaxed couples I’ve ever worked with — and they had some fun photo ideas too. A few days after their wedding, we went out for another photo session, but more on that later!

In the meantime, here’s a peek of Zahiah and Alladdine’s wedding day.
