Big destination wedding at Beaches

It is always fun to be a part of a big destination wedding at Beaches, Turks and Caicos. When I met with Mike and Kimberly to discuss their plans for their big day and the celebrations before and after, I knew it was going to be an energetic and busy two-day event.

The bride and groom arranged a boat trip for their party the day before the wedding. All the guests had the perfect opportunity to get to know one another whilst relaxing and enjoying the sunshine, some even experiencing snorkeling before stopping at a deserted island and then heading back to the hotel.

On the big day, we began with photos of the bridal party and the groomsmen getting ready in their rooms at Beaches Turks and Caicos. It was fun to photograph Mike receiving his gift from Kimberly – a pair of Air Jordan which she had had engraved with their initials (a perk of working for the Nike Jordan brand!).

The wedding ceremony took place on Grace Bay Beach in front of the hotel. The turquoise waters provided a beautiful back drop for photos and whilst the wedding party moved on to the reception area, I was able to photograph the newly weds before the sun began to set.

The wedding reception took place around a section of the French Village pool. After the first dance, some lovely food and great speeches, it was time to party and this group knew how to party! At the end of the night, most of the guests even ended up in the pool before moving on to the nightclub for stage two of the celebrations.

Here are just a few of the many photos that were taken during the wedding day.

Somerset Resort wedding. Michelle and Neal

We first met with Michelle and Neal in August when they were making plans and preparations for their upcoming wedding to be held at the beautiful Somerset Resort in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

After hearing and seeing how excited the bride and groom were for their big destination wedding which would take place in the heart of Grace Bay, I knew this was going to be a great wedding to capture.

Michelle and Neil had family and friends traveling from all over the world to be a part of their special day. The Turks and Caicos was to be the perfect location to bring everyone together, almost one hundred guests in total, to celebrate in style with Michelle and Neal.

On the actual wedding day, Anita and I began shooting photos of Michelle and Neil getting ready in separate rooms in their large suite. What many of the guests didn’t know was that Michelle and Neil were planning to do a first look at the close by resort of The Palms before the ceremony took place. The big surprise was for Neal because he didn’t know that his wife-to-be would be wearing stunning traditional Indian clothes instead of the white dress that she was originally going to wear for the ceremony.

The wedding ceremony took place on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Grace Bay, just a few feet away from beautiful turquoise waters and with the Somerset resort behind them.

After the ceremony on the beach, we had just enough time to photograph the family members and close friends, all of whom were overjoyed for the happy couple. The hot sun gradually started to set over the tranquil ocean and everyone was ready for the next part of the wedding, the wedding reception.

Michelle and Neal’s wedding reception took place a few feet away from the beautiful driftwood wedding arch where they had said their ‘I do’s’ just moments before. DJ Dayoh was the one in charge of getting everyone onto the dance floor which was a specially made wooden structure just begging to be partied on.

The wedding party was scheduled to finish at 11pm but it went on for a little longer as none of the guests wanted to stop dancing! We were all enjoying a great night in the company of great people.

Many thanks to:

Hannah and kamau’s trash the wedding dress

Just a day after I photographed the wedding of Hannah and Kamau at the Blue Haven Resort & Marina we met once again but this time was for a ‘trash’ the wedding dress

For the first part of the photo shoot we went for a short drive to Leeward beach were we did a quick few photos and then went to the opposite side of the island looking for clear water for the underwater photos.

When we got to Malcolm’s beach the water wasn’t very calm but it actually made it more fun trying to get some photos of Hannah and Kamau on a bicycle underwater. We first started doing some half and half underwater photos and for the perfect ending we did the full underwater ‘trash’ the wedding dress 🙂

Here are a few images of their ‘trash’ the wedding dress…..

Elopement in Turks and Caicos, Jeanette and Michael.

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of photographing an elopement in Turks and Caicos with Jeanette and Michael Mehall. They both wanted a very laid-back wedding and to have some photos taken around the island before their ceremony.

On April 16th I picked them up at their hotel, The Gansevoort, Turks & Caicos and we went for a very short drive to the beautiful Leeward beach. Blue Hills was our second stop where we did some photos around the older and more colorful buildings you can find there.

We drove back to their hotel around an hour before sunset and from there walked onto Grace Bay beach for ceremony. A beautiful sunset was the perfect ending to their wedding day and also a great backdrop for the final shots.
Here are a few images from their wedding day….

The wedding of Joyce & Ethan

A few weeks back we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a very fun couple at the beautiful resort of the Palms, Turks & Caicos.

We first met with Joyce and Ethan a few days before their wedding to discuss the last few details and timings for their especial day. I knew right away that this was going to be a great wedding to capture.

The wedding ceremony took place on Grace Bay beach next to the Palms Resort where Joyce and Ethan got ready. Around fifty family members and very close friends made it to the Turks & Caicos Islands to celebrate this special day with the bride and groom.

The wedding reception took place on the croquet lawn where everyone had a blast, especially the small kids who took over the dance floor, making everyone join in!

The wedding of Kelly & Eric at the Sands Resort

The first time I met with Kelly and Eric was actually a few months before they decided on having their wedding at the Sands Resort. They met with a few of the wedding vendors on island and were very excited to begin planning for the big event. They couldn’t wait for their coming  destination wedding in August 2015.

Just a few months later we met again but this time it was for the big day. Kelly and Eric got ready at the Sands Resort where we did a few photos in the rooms and around the gardens.

The wedding ceremony took place on the beautiful Grace Bay beach, where the happy couple were joined by just over sixty of their best friends and close family members.

The Wedding Reception took place in the sand under a tent on the beach only a few steps away from the island’s beautiful waters. It was just the start of a long awaited celebration and the perfect ending for Kelly and Eric’s wedding day.

The wedding of Aleksa & Mark Miller on Grace Bay

About two weeks ago I had the great opportunity to photograph a beautiful wedding at the end of Grace Bay beach.

After our first meeting with Aleksa and her mum Colleen at Villa Byculla, we knew this was going to be a fun wedding to capture. In addition to the regular photographs to be taken on the day, this bride and groom wanted to do some photos around the island and this is something that we really love doing.

On the wedding day Aleksa and Mark did a first look at their villa and then we drove to one of our favorite beaches on Provo, Leeward beach, to capture some of the amazing turquoise ocean colors.

Blue Hills was our second stop where we did some images around some of the older buildings and colorful sailboats that can be found in this area.

After some driving around the island it was time to get back to Grace Bay where their wedding ceremony began.

The wedding reception took place on the beach near Hemingway’s Restaurant. It was the perfect ending for Aleksa and Mark’s destination wedding.

Here are just a few images from their wedding day….
