Engagement shoot in Blue Hills

Just a few days ago I had the opportunity to meet a fun, relaxed couple whose wedding I will be photographing next December 2015 at the Seven Stars Resort.

Inara and Daniel came to the Turks & Caicos for a very short visit to meet with some of the island wedding vendors and to enjoy a quick holiday before heading back home.

As part of their trip they had a meeting with us to discuss some of their wedding ceremony plans. We also took some engagement photos so they had some island memories to share of their trip.

For the photo shoot Inara, wanted to skip Grace Beach Beach and find a spot a bit more secluded with local flavor. We decided that the Blue Hills area was the perfect location for their shoot

Here are a few images from their shoot….

Welcome back to Turks and Caicos!

This year we have seen an increase in the number of families that have been returning to Turks and Caicos for family vacations. The Matejic family is one of the extra special ones as it’s been over 8 years since we last saw them in Turks and my does everyone look so different – all grown up!  We managed to catch up with them a couple of days ago and hang out with the kids (now big) and show them around our home. We found a couple of new areas to use as well as some favourites. great to catch up with everyone and hear what they have been doing over the years. Amazing to think where the time goes, but fabulous that we’ve been able to help them “freeze time” and capture these fleeting moments… Read More »Welcome back to Turks and Caicos!

Amy & Joe’s honeymoon at Grace Bay Club

A few weeks ago Craig, myself and Gabriel, our photography student, had the pleasure to photograph Amy and Joe, a fun young couple celebrating their honeymoon here in the Turks and Caicos. This photo shoot was booked by Amy’s mum so they could have some memories of this very special trip.

On October 18th we met with Amy and Joe at the beautiful resort of Grace Bay Club. I really enjoy photographing around this property because it has some great architecture and very lush gardens.

About thirty minutes before sunset we moved to Grace Bay beach where we pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves. Sand dunes, white sandy beach and beautiful blue waters are always a great background for any images.

Here are just a few images from their photo session….

Cherie & Ken trash the wedding dress after their destination wedding in turks and caicos

A few weeks ago I photographed one of the must fun weddings I have done this year.

I really enjoy doing photo shoots with couples around the island, but I love it even more when I get the chance to take their photo underwater. 🙂  MOre and more couples choosing to have a destination wedding in turks and caicos are opting to have a trash the dress shoot as well.

Cherie and Ken got married at Beaches Turks & Caicos, but for their wedding photos they wanted to do something a little different outside their resort.

First we went to capture images with beautiful beaches with blue water and sky, and then to Blue Hills for some colorful buildings with a “Caribbean” flavor.

The last part of the shoot was the most interesting. We drove to the Northwest Point area, one of my favorite places to capture beautiful sunsets, and we were not disappointed! The access gate to the beach was closed, so we had to walk a ways to get to the water, creating a little adventure for us before the big finale. But it was well worth it.

We saved the underwater sunset photos for last. This was my first attempt at underwater photos at this time of day, and I was blown away with the results.

So much beach time fun at Grace Bay Club, Turks and Caicos

It all started with an iphone picture of Peggy and her daughter Penelope walking towards the blue ocean. It captured Peggy’s imagination and 24 hours later we were helping her capture some really lovely family moments on the beach right on front of Grace Bay Club. It can take a little time for kids to warm up to a new person, let alone one with a big camera pointing at them – but that’s where our team (as parents ourselves) know all the tricks and it was so great to see Penelope running, jumping and having such a great time. Posed pictures with a two year old? Sure we got them…they just don’t look set up or posed 😉  lovely family, lovely evening – pure Turks and Caicos family fun.
