Flying kilts at Seven Stars Resort

Mary Martha and Alastair’s wedding at the Seven Stars Resorts was an Anglo-American match made in paradise. This jet set couple met in Thailand and travelled the world before selecting the amazing Grace Bay beach for their wedding day. With some Scottish heritage in Alastair’s family it was only right that he should wear the family tartan and wow what a colorful sight it made on the beach. It was only overshadowed by Mary Martha’s amazing dress from Katie May in Los Angeles. Makeup and hair was by Ann and Geraldine from Beauty and the Beach and it was great to see Ernst again from Environmental Arts. Pastor Padmore of course was perfection in officiating the ceremony. Naturally the whole day flowed effortless as Lynne from NILA Destinations kept things moving along and had the bride in fits of laughter. LOVE Alastair’s mum’s hat and his grandmothers fascinator.British style !

Magical proposal on Grace Bay beach

As well as a busy week at the studio we are also having quite a romantic week! A couple of days ago we helped Steve pop the question to Jaclyn. After a few telephone calls with Steve we set up a plan involving a walk along the beach close to the Gansevoort Resort with me hiding/lurking ready with a camera. Jaclyn luckily didn’t suspect a thing and even Steve almost missed seeing me!  After the proposal we did a few pictures before the sun started to disappear  and then gave them a lift to the Grace Bay Club where Steve had made dinner reservations. What a lovely way to spend an evening…a magical proposal on Grace Bay beach.

Sara and Clive’s ClubMed Wedding

A simple two person ClubMed Wedding was a riot of color. When we met up with Sara and Clive before their wedding they pointed out a beautiful flame tree that they wanted to include. So we arranged a bit of a “first look” before the wedding so we could include it in the pictures.. After that we headed off on an island tour capturing some great spots we know around the island. We even had time to stop off for a quick rum punch at the Conch Shak. It’s great that the island is so compact and allows us to show it off and still only be 10 minutes away from where the wedding will be. (so much less stress than worrying about “traffic” !) We were back to ClubMed for the ceremony on the beach as the sun was setting and a few moments together before they headed off to Grace Bay club for an intimate dinner for two. Awesome.

beach honeymoon pictures

In between the flurry of weddings we have at this time of year we also have had a few beach honeymoon pictures sessions. Whilst often a lot of emphasis is put on the wedding and the wedding day for pictures, it can be such a time crunch that having pictures on your honeymoon makes a lot of sense. In an hour or less, you can grab some fab pictures without the time pressure and more often than not, whilst you are in a gorgeous setting – just like Turks and Caicos! We did just that for Darya and Charles recently at the Sands Resort. One evening before they went out to dinner we met up an hour or so before sunset and meandered our way through the resort ending up on the always amazing Gracebay beach for sunset.  Perfect, Fun, Easy.

Why you should Trash The Dress.

Why you should Trash The Dress.  For many brides it’s a simple “never” and that’s fine, whilst for others it’s a maybe or not quite sure. After all it’s their wedding dress!  First off the name “trash the dress’ is a bit like doom and gloom. It’s rare that the dress is written off or destroyed in fact I’ve never seen that happen. So why do it?

Fabulous family boat trip in turks and caicos

I had a great weekend helping Suzanne and Paul with our signature Castaway Boat shoot. This is a fabulous family boat trip in turks and caicos where you have your very own private boat to go wherever you want.  What a great way to spend the afternoon !! Plus it was also another “repeat” shoot with this lovely family which just makes everything that much easier and fun. We cruised along the islands, found a great beach spot, hung out with some local rock iguanas before then heading out to a cool reef spot for some underwater pictures and snorkelling. A little rum punch on the way back sealed the deal ! We even had time for a “selfie”Read More »Fabulous family boat trip in turks and caicos
