Wedding at the Sands at Grace Bay

A groom still in the pool with a cocktail less than an hour before the wedding; Pimms for the cocktail of choice after the ceremony and a dance floor and reception inches from the water on the beach – shouldn’t every wedding be like this? Kourtney and Glen’s Wedding at the Sands at Grace Bay was  a coming together of British humour and Texan hospitality and fun – something I can completely relate to.  With Mary from Nila Destinations keeping everything running smoothly and a reception catered by Kissing Fish it was a fabulous wedding. Flowers by the always amazing Environmental Arts. Icing on the cake? The rocking steel pan band from a local school that had people stopping on the beach to pause and listen…awesome.

Love and laughter at the Sands on grace bay.

I love walking into a bride’s room as she is getting ready and hearing laughter. The “stressed out bride” is a bit of a cliche in Turks and Caicos. Yes it happens – but in truth it’s rare. Jenny was laughing, having a little wine and chatting away with her mum as Shenique  helped her with her hair and makeup. The Sands on grace bay is also a very low key resort that just lends itself to a positive, relaxed vibe. After a ceremony in the gazebo rather than on the beach it was time for a few beach pictures before a lovely reception at Hemmingways. Keisha from  Destination TCI made sure everything looked fab and was on time. Wedding cake by Boutique Cakery From ScratchRead More »Love and laughter at the Sands on grace bay.

Soraya & Zakir’s Grace Bay Club Wedding pt 2

Soraya & Zakir’s Grace Bay Club Wedding continued with a picture perfect sunny day.  Lots of fun with all the family buzzing in and out of the room as everyone got ready under the supervision of Shenique, followed by a lovely ceremony on the beach with Pastor Padmore. Flowers by Environmental Arts as always and a reception at the Grill with music to dance the night away. Really lovely.Read More »Soraya & Zakir’s Grace Bay Club Wedding pt 2

Soraya & Zakir’s Grace Bay Club Wedding pt 1

Soraya & Zakir’s Grace Bay Club Wedding started off with a relaxed, low key rehearsal dinner on the beach right in front of the resort. The evening was full of family, friends, great food and dancing to steel pan tunes under the stars. . Shameka and her team at Grace Bay Club did a wonderful job of making everything flow smoothly and with tropical cocktails and chocolate delights it was a lovely, relaxed way to start off the wedding weekend. Read More »Soraya & Zakir’s Grace Bay Club Wedding pt 1

Jennifer and Andrew’s Wedding at Seven Stars Resort

Jennifer and Andrew’s Wedding at Seven Stars Resort was another intimate, fun, family and friends filled affair. A little “wintry” weather also didn’t dampen the occasion despite some strong winds and slightly overcast skies. A beautiful ceremony on the beach, some family pictures in the garden before a couple of cocktails and then a romantic shoot with just the two of them. It was then soon time for the reception, toasts and dancing the night away. Perfect.

How to make your Caribbean elopement fabulous.

There are many destinations in the Caribbean that will offer a simple, two person elopement package. Almost every resort in the Caribbean offers their version of a “Caribbean elopement”, but how to make it unique, different, your own? With Michelle and Donovan last week we helped them create a fabulous elopement by planning a great afternoon of fun locations, a first look at their Gansevoort resort and by creating pictures that have a little “extra” glamour and island vibe but still holding true to their own style and personalities.  Fantastically Michelle and Donovan were  keen to toss out the “30 min shoot on the beach and chocolates on your pillow” and  come play with us in Turks and Caicos as we travelled around the island. It was great fun. We helped with shoes, dresses, timings and had them back to the resort with 5 minutes to spare before the ceremony started. This was a really fabulous wedding – natural, flowing, elegant but with a real tropical twist. I even got to be in one of the pictures !
