A whole new experience, Halloween underwater

Last Thursday we took Halloween photos, as we do every year, at Provo Primary School here in the Turks and Caicos. We asked some of the kids if they wanted to celebrate Halloween one more time but this time underwater. They loved the idea of being underwater models.
This afternoon we set up some lights, got a backdrop and took the kids in the pool. It was very strange for them to go in the pool with their Halloween costumes being submerged. The costumes are definitely not made for a Halloween party underwater and it was funny to see that hats are floating, dresses come up and treading water is a tiring exercise. Not to mention how hard it is to stay underwater and pose for the camera. Our models did a fantastic job and when they had a break they were enjoying Kristin’s homemade cookies. Life of a model is hard.  We even learned something new….pumpkins float!  What is going to be next, we can’t wait to come up with some other cool ideas for photo shoots and we have some in the planning. Would Santa go underwater, we know he can fly….but can he swim and will he be floating or not.

A Turks and Caicos Halloween

Year after year, Halloween gives a spark to imagination and playfulness – and it’s even more fun with babies. We decided to invite some of Provo’s youngest residents and their mums to our studio on All Hallow’s Eve and the day after for a festive photo shoot. There was no shortage of candy, cookies or crying babes in costume – but they laughed too! A few of our special guests even tried to eat the pumpkins they posed with. They didn’t care if the pumpkins were as big as themselves.

Let’s face it. Can anyone pull off a bumble-bee costume better than a 5-month-old?Read More »A Turks and Caicos Halloween

Amy & Joe’s honeymoon at Grace Bay Club

A few weeks ago Craig, myself and Gabriel, our photography student, had the pleasure to photograph Amy and Joe, a fun young couple celebrating their honeymoon here in the Turks and Caicos. This photo shoot was booked by Amy’s mum so they could have some memories of this very special trip.

On October 18th we met with Amy and Joe at the beautiful resort of Grace Bay Club. I really enjoy photographing around this property because it has some great architecture and very lush gardens.

About thirty minutes before sunset we moved to Grace Bay beach where we pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves. Sand dunes, white sandy beach and beautiful blue waters are always a great background for any images.

Here are just a few images from their photo session….

The wedding of Amber & Cristiano at the Seven Stars

I knew the wedding of Amber and Cristiano was going to be a fun one to photograph when I first met them at the lobby of the Seven Stars resort. A great couple – Amber is from America, Cristiano is from Italy and they now live together in Brazil and met whilst both working for the same company.

Amber and Cristiano wanted to have a fun and relaxed beach wedding and the Turks & Caicos Islands was the perfect location . They had wedding guests coming all the way from Italy, Brazil and the USA!

On October 12th about an hour before sunset Amber and Cristiano had a beautiful beach ceremony just a few feet away from the calm waters of Grace Bay.

Their wedding reception took place at the Seven Stars west deck where everyone enjoyed a great evening under the stars with some entertainment from some of their italian guests!

A big thank you to Laura, the Seven Stars wedding planner, for doing such a great job.
Here are a few images from the day….
