How to make your Caribbean elopement fabulous.

There are many destinations in the Caribbean that will offer a simple, two person elopement package. Almost every resort in the Caribbean offers their version of a “Caribbean elopement”, but how to make it unique, different, your own? With Michelle and Donovan last week we helped them create a fabulous elopement by planning a great afternoon of fun locations, a first look at their Gansevoort resort and by creating pictures that have a little “extra” glamour and island vibe but still holding true to their own style and personalities.  Fantastically Michelle and Donovan were  keen to toss out the “30 min shoot on the beach and chocolates on your pillow” and  come play with us in Turks and Caicos as we travelled around the island. It was great fun. We helped with shoes, dresses, timings and had them back to the resort with 5 minutes to spare before the ceremony started. This was a really fabulous wedding – natural, flowing, elegant but with a real tropical twist. I even got to be in one of the pictures !

Parrot cay elopement

Wendy and Michael’s Parrot Cay Elopement

We don’t hide the fact that Parrot Cay is a special place for us. As scuba divers 20 years ago we used to wonder and what the “mothballed” red roofed hotel nestled on the hill high above the beach was really like. Then several years ago Como hotels bought the island and turned it into what can only be called a magical place. Helping with Wendy and Michael’s Parrot Cay Elopement last week was yet again a fun visit to the island and a delight to help them with their special day.Read More »Wendy and Michael’s Parrot Cay Elopement

Whitney and Joshua’s Trash the Dress Photo Shoot.

As part of their wedding celebration we did a quick Trash the Dress Photo Shoot with Whitney and Joshua last week. We coordinated the shoot with mom’s arriving on the island and providing baby sitting for their daughter Madeline and also a slight delay due to some heavy rain that drenched the island on the afternoon of the planned shoot. With logistic out of the way we did a gentle tour of the island, picking out some fun locations we know and love that looked great even under the overcast skies. Both Whitney and Joshua were fabulous to work with. Easy going and adventurous, they went “All the way” for the shoot and were soon upto almost their necks in water !! A fun shoot and a great pre-cursor to their wedding day the following day!

Meredith and Joseph’s Seven Stars Resort Wedding

As a full time RN and full time graduate student, and also studying for finals in the run up to her wedding finding a simple plan for a destination wedding was clearly important for Meredith and Joseph. And what a great job they did ! A  Seven Stars Resort wedding was the perfect solution for this intimate and family focussed destination wedding.  With beautiful flowers from Environmental Arts, a ceremony inches from the blue caribbean water and a reception barefoot and under the stars – what a perfect day. We loved the BBQ on the beach and fire-pit, but above all else the smiles, the joy and happiness that both of them showed all day long. Love those smiles ! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day.Read More »Meredith and Joseph’s Seven Stars Resort Wedding

Cindy and Kelton’s 10th Wedding Anniversary at Parrot Cay

We make no secret of the fact that we love to shoot at Parrot Cay Resort by Como Hotels . It’s a gorgeous resort on it’s own private island with a beach that seems to go on forever. It’s grounds are also stunning with flame trees, big leaf palms,  and tree lined walkways that contrast against the white wooden walls, red roof tiles and hand laid stonework. Adding onto that a lovely couple like Cindy and Kelton celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary and it makes for an afternoon that is a struggle to call “work”.

Simple ,elegant, fun, low key, but full of smiles and laughter this was a true celebration.Read More »Cindy and Kelton’s 10th Wedding Anniversary at Parrot Cay
