Fab, fun family pictures in turks and caicos.

Creating family pictures in turks and caicos is something I love to do. I love having families that have energy and are happy to run, play, jump, chase, tickle and generally get sandy. My heart drops a little when the khaki and white and manicured hair comes out. Will they even sit in the sand? With Selma and Jules it was full on action and fun as we corralled Eva and Connor. YES!  We started off with replicating a picture that Jules had with his own dad #awesome, then headed to the beach. The water in Turks is so inviting – its like a huge warm bath with clear water and few waves, so no wonder Conner wanted to run head first into the ocean.  I love the smiles, the energy, the distracted looks off camera as this family enjoys everything that they do. Sit still? Why? It’s more interesting over there, let’s go.. If only we could tap into the power source of a 1.5 year old. Tesla would be out of business!

family photo shoot – Turks and Caicos style.

An easy peasy family photo shoot?  I see it in the faces of parents all the time. The concern, the worry, the anxiousness that after all the preparations, getting ready, choosing outfits, arranging nap times and snacks, once in-front of the camera the little ones will “melt down” and not co-operate….Hand on heart – in the last 20 years I’ve never seen it happen. I cannot remember it happening. Maybe I’ve just “blanked it out ”  😉 As I arrived at Royal West Indies Resort last week the smiling face of Sofia peered back at me through the glass doors of the hotel lobby… CUTE!!  This was going to be fun !

Celebrating a 1st Birthday on the beach.

Pinali contacted us and wanted a few fun pictures with family and friends to help celebrate her son’s first birthday. Wow. What a great place to celebrate your first birthday at the Villa Renaissance in Turks and Caicos! The trip also combined an engagement/ wedding planning for her sister so with the other couples in tow we used the lovely resort and of course the beach to capture some 1st birthday moments. With so many families down in Turks and Caicos for spring break it was fun to mix things up a little and help Lauren and Williams with a more romantic photo shoot. We were able to rearrange the shoot to avoid some cloud and rain on our “booked night” and slip the shoot by 24 hours. So glad we did as the sun was out and it was another fabulous afternoon in Turks and Caicos. WOW what a cute couple and so fun to work with. We played. we moved around the island, we tried out a new spot where we’ve never taken pictures before and ended up on the south side of the island with the perfect sunset setting right over the water. Family time at Point Grace Resort

What an amazing week we are having. Yet another “returning family” again a few days ago with Tina and Vance and their two awesome daughters at Point Grace Resort & Spa. Again I did a family photo shoot for them a couple of years ago and it was fabulous to see everyone again. With two daughters of my own just a few years older it was easy to connect, have some fun and let everyone just be themselves. The time just flew by. Point Grace is also such a special resort with just 20 or so rooms it really keeps true to it’s boutique nature. Such amazing traditional Caribbean architecture and probably the best (widest) stretch of Grace Bay Beach out of the whole 12 miles. Three photos shoots- one family – part two.

So following on from the last blog post – with the super fun boat trip, snorkelling for conch, shipwrecks and underwater pictures – later that day its was “part two and three” of our extended family photo shoot. With some family members not on the boat trip, I did a lovely sunset photo shoot with Grace and Mark and their kids and then a “babymoon” shoot to celebrate a new baby on the way for  Cormac & Stephanie Grace’s brother and sister-in-law.
