Within 3 or 4 minutes the kids were laughing and playing, completely oblivious to me and the camera. Having my own (slightly older) girls certainly helps, but with such great kids to play with and parents and grandparents we all had a very relaxed time at Ocean Club Resorts capturing some fun family time on the beach.
I had a great weekend helping Suzanne and Paul with our signature Castaway Boat shoot. This is a fabulous family boat trip in turks and caicos where you have your very own private boat to go wherever you want. What a great way to spend the afternoon !! Plus it was also another “repeat” shoot with this lovely family which just makes everything that much easier and fun. We cruised along the islands, found a great beach spot, hung out with some local rock iguanas before then heading out to a cool reef spot for some underwater pictures and snorkelling. With so many families down in Turks and Caicos for spring break it was fun to mix things up a little and help Lauren and Williams with a more romantic photo shoot. We were able to rearrange the shoot to avoid some cloud and rain on our “booked night” and slip the shoot by 24 hours. So glad we did as the sun was out and it was another fabulous afternoon in Turks and Caicos. WOW what a cute couple and so fun to work with. We played. we moved around the island, we tried out a new spot where we’ve never taken pictures before and ended up on the south side of the island with the perfect sunset setting right over the water. What an amazing week we are having. Yet another “returning family” again a few days ago with Tina and Vance and their two awesome daughters at Point Grace Resort & Spa. Again I did a family photo shoot for them a couple of years ago and it was fabulous to see everyone again. With two daughters of my own just a few years older it was easy to connect, have some fun and let everyone just be themselves. The time just flew by. Point Grace is also such a special resort with just 20 or so rooms it really keeps true to it’s boutique nature. Such amazing traditional Caribbean architecture and probably the best (widest) stretch of Grace Bay Beach out of the whole 12 miles. Spring break is in full swing in Turks and Caicos and we’ve had several returning families back to visit us. Jill and Kirk and their two boys Hunter and Jackson had a few days at one of the resorts on Grace bay before moving to Amanyara. It’s certainly one of our favourite resorts with its Asian inspired architecture and amazing beach. It was back in 2012 that we first did a family photo shoot with them and it was great to see the boys again -a little older, but just as fun. As a dad myself it’s always special to see families together having pictures, just hanging out and taking a few moments to be together. Great family in a wonderful location…perfect.
Family photo shoots are a big part of what we do. The relaxed vibe of Turks and Caicos and of course its gorgeous beach and water are the perfect backdrop for “family downtime” and reconnecting. We often get asked to help with “multigenerational families” – two and three generations all together. Helping with family photography at Grace Bay Club is something we do a lot and love. It’s such a beautiful resort and its located on one of the best parts of the world famous Grace Bay beach.
